Hi forum members!
I have resolved a problem as described below. Hope it’s not too long but seems necessary to state car condition and symptoms in order to help others who may one day suffer from this vexing problem.

Noble M12 with fuel pump (fp) upgrade, fp wire harness upgrade, fp relay. All fuses were changed to US spec some time ago. The 4 fuses (those close to ECM/ECU) were checked and cleaned, 30A fp relay was replaced, fp connections and ground point cleaned, fuel filter was cleaned (no contamination) about 4000 miles ago (6 months). Car always started well from cold, not always kept on a Battery Tender but never had a starting problem or dead battery. Standing battery reading 12.54 after overnight stop.

Problem began with the engine suddenly stopping during an idle warm up in my driveway. Happened once, and then became a regular happening (it was an abrupt cut, not a stumble/miss & then stop). Cycling the ignition off & on & pressing the key fob usually started the fp prime cycle again and motor would start.

Another example: The car started ok, drove 2.5 hrs round Charlotte, NC to the recent Godzilla Noble/Rossion Fest at CMP. Ran all day on the track & paddock area. Pulled in for gas on way home. Filled up with nice cool gas, turned into traffic and engine/fuel pump cut off….nearly was run over by a big truck!!!

This scenario has repeated itself many times recently, always at low engine speeds, never in the middle of a fast drive down country roads or highway. The problem happened 5 times in 150 mile trip! Again, after gassing up or after a stop at traffic lights or at/after a junction stop. After having this problem for a while, turning on side lights would cut the motor/fp??

The problem was with an item I didn’t even know was fitted to my car. It was a worn out or faulty “short stop” 30 amp thermal circuit breaker supplied with my fuel pump upgrade kit (fitted over a year ago). The fuel pump should not exceed 20 amps draw according to Bosch but it appears as though the circuit breaker would arc and overheat. Why at low speeds….I can only guess it was because there was more engine heat than fresh cool air at low speed. Anyway, once I found this thing that looked like a voltage stabilizer (as used in old Brit cars) I bypassed the it temporarily and all my problems were gone. Just to be sure it wasn’t a bad connection I wired it up again and my troubles returned once the car generated enough under hood heat.

There are most likely other cars fitted with this breaker as part of their upgrade kit. Be aware that it may cause some of the above problems one day.

So my throttle cable housing "melted" at road atlanta, and needed to be replaced. Replacing in kind was not an option, so search for another option started. Then during a call with Serban he told me "I have no Noble cable but I have rossion" then explained me the way it's done on Rossion. I did some seach on Pistonheads and with RHD cars they just, like rossion, run it down the side pod. I didnt like the idea of the cable being too closed from the front right wheel and this is teh solution I choose
you can still see the old cable in there, I left it for the moment just in case there is an issue with my set-up and I need to revert back to old routing with upgraded cable.
=================================================
Relay contacts labeled "87A" are normally closed, which means that the contacts are closed when the relay coil is not energized. That would mean the fuel pump was only connected to battery power when the ignition is off. Turn the ignition on, the relay is energized and contact 87A opens, and no power to the fuel pump. Not very useful.

It turns out our relays don't have an 87A contact, rather they have two 87 contacts, which are normally open. 87 contacts close when the relay is energized.

You find these things when you rewire the engine compartment.

Although I still love Nobles and live vicariously through all you guys that have access to a track, Land and Power issues in Hawaii have destroyed that for me and everyone else in my fair state. I am not big on the bling factor for owning a car like this, so I've rather lost interest in driving it. In fact, it has been garaged for the last 20 months awaiting my dilatory mechanic's installation of a a new a/c evaporator. Actually, it's worked out very well for me, since it's being safely stored. I'm advertising it in Portland, since it has current Oregon registration, which I understand is not that easy to get anymore. Anyways, here's the ad so pass it on to anyone that might be interested:

If you're serious, you already know what this car looks like and other pertinent data.
Additional data:
~25,000 miles.
• Garaged in Honolulu
• current Oregon license.
Factory options:
• 400hp hi-po mapping
• Silver/grey metal-flake exterior
• Tan leather interior, "big-man" seats
• Track pan, oil pan
• Quaiffe lsd
• Factory security
• Starter button
Aftermarket:
• 4 speaker stereo
oil cooler
• Blow-off valve
• Upgraded FPR
• Upgraded fuel pump
• Custom turbo work (oil cooling)
• Greg Robb inconel exhaust, Cat-back
• Greg Robb intercooler heat shield & other custom heat shielding
• Kevlar clutch
• Upgraded throttle cable.
• New tires (zero miles; labels still on the tread surface)

HISTORY: Harley K., located in IL, ordered the car from 1G Racing January 2007. Harley took possession in May 2007 and registered the car in IL. IL issued the VIN and door tag as a Specialty Construction vehicle. The title shows make as SPEC-CONSTD, Model as M400. I understand that Harley was active on the Noble Owners Forum and completed several track days with the car. The car was sold to Jim R., located in WI, in June 2009 with approximately 2,000 miles. Wisconsin registered the vehicle as a REPLICA, and required Jim to select a replica model. He told them that it resembled a Porsche 917…so they registered it as a “Porsche Replica” with the IL VIN number. Unfortunately, Jim was not able to use the car much after he was involved in a serious automobile accident with his truck and trailer. Jim maintained the car very well but was only able to put approximately 800 miles on it in 2.5 years. I purchased the car in September 2011 with 2,813 miles on it. Because of the superior condition of the car I actually drove it from WI to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 24 hours accumulating an additional 1,343 miles. The car ran flawlessly, no issues what so ever and I averaged more than 24 miles per gallon! The car currently has 5,400 miles on it, and within the last 90 days (less than 500 miles) I have had:
