You are absolutely right about the F-Con. It will require modifications. Jon K. from HKS was out in Vegas this weekend looking over our new TT NSX, and as we are looking for a new platform the Noble immediately came to mind. All we need to do is get a hold of oneJ

Having the pay to play attitude is great, I wish all individuals that modify their car would adhere to this notion. Then again as you mentioned replacement engines for $5,100 is a drop in the bucket.

Well, looking into the modifications necessary to mate up the F-Con now (at another shop). I'd like to avoid going to Motec if possible.

    Keeping fingers crossed.

    Default GT Turbos

When I was at texas Motorsport Ranch yesterday I was told when installing on the M400 I should use Garret GT Turbos not the regular T28's.

Can anyone shed any light on this - has anyone done it?

    Thanks

The stock units that come in the SnakeBite kit on the US market M400 are Garrett GT28R turbos.

    Default Turbos

On PH I noticed Simon said that the Turbos on the M400 were bespoke to Noble. I wonder if ours are bespoke as well or we just get the standard GT28's?

Hard to tell from the outside. The wheels could be different. The wastegate actuator is definitely custom.

Oh yeah, BTW, Garrett changed their naming convention.

Noble uses a "generic" so to speak turbo of no known origins here in the US. Garrett is the brand we get here.

Changes to my car will be minimal. Inconel exhaust manifolds if it looks like I might need them. I want the plumbing to last forever. There are other little changes. I will do my own installation at home.

High end fuel pressure regulator. Not sure which one yet. Depends on which one I get for free, maybe. Noisy pop off valves.

    Fidanza flywheel.

    Willans 6pt harness.

Heat shield over the rear turbo hot section and exhaust system/mufflers/cats. This stainless with high temp reflective insulation. Not unlike Robbs, but much lighter, different shape and purpose.

Corsa muffler and pipes. This will be custom, and cannot be built until the car is finished. Tuned for a specific sound, but is straight through, and has no packing at all. This system will be available later.

Larger oil cooler mounted in the after cooler duct. Small puller fan installed, or not. Depends...

Higher output alternator. We will need more power.

License plate and light mounted between rear air exit and difuser.

There will be no heat issues with my Noble. All of the HP, all of the time, even in traffic.

    Heal/toe plate, custom throttle pedal.

Porterfield brake pads. R4E endurance race compound. I hate changing stuff for track days. These will do for daily use as well.

Oh, and a special transmission, if the boys get it done in time. If not, the stock Getrag will be just fine.

Other changes after the initial track tests to correct tire temps if necessary, and to tune the chassis to my impecable taste. I don't think that there will be any changes, but just in case, I though I'd mention that there might be some.

Custom built wheels, light weight, one piece castings as well as the stock wheels for daily use.

Not much when compared to some of the other cars. No need for advanced traction control, or temperature monitoring equipment. No stereo.

    Any questions?

In fact it was a genuine question and not a go at SJ. Perhaps it should have read "have they been made yet?" rather than "do they exist".

I may not like SJ's style and take a lot of what he posts with some spadefuls of salt but if he's got something I'm happy to listen and learn. Its the sorting the chaff from the wheat that's the bore which is what my question was attempting to do.
