Installation advice for Headlight Covers M400

Hello all,

I am about to start the process of of removing my cracked headlight lens covers and then I hopefully will successfully trim and install the new lens covers without cracking them. I am seeking advice from any and all that have been there and done it and have the scares to prove it. Just kidding about the scars... I am really interested in what the best way is to trim the new covers is without causing damage to them as well as what methods people have used to cut out the old lenses. All advice is welcome. Thank you

I used a small rotary burr in a dremel to cut around the perimeter of the clear plastic from the outside. I think the factory covers have a fairly wide lip that is glued to the underside of the clam. No way I'd try to cut the headlight bucket and clear cover away from the clam! I recall a post from many years ago by a Noble owner who did so and said it was a miserable experience.

NobleM400 once you got the clear plastic cut out, how did you make enough room to attach the new lenses? I am going through this process as we speak and have the plastic cut out from the front side, but the painted bucket is still in the way of being able to trim and install the new lenses....

you have to remove the painted bucket from the back side and then do the same with the lense

Yeah it’s a pain. Especially if the installer was aggressive with the sealant
