Thread: Headlight bulbs

  1. #1

    Default Headlight bulbs

Anyone know what kind of headlight bulbs go in the low & high beams in the current Noble models?

A blinker bulb just went out on my car, I figured if I'm going to unseal the headlight assembly, I may as well upgrade at the same time.

    Gabe,

There had been a lot of discussion about replacement bulbs on PH. You may want to do a search on there. Other than that, the info is probably in the back of the Installation Manual for the stock size bulb that you can cross-reference.

Your car is starting to fall apart.....are you ready to sell it yet?

A blinker blub out. WOW!!! I guess the Noble gang is the only group to actually use blinkers here in the US. On most other cars here I don't even think they're functional.

Aha! H7 it looks like (though not sure if it's both low and high):

    Ah wait, both are H7:

I think I'm going with these:

5000 Kelvin HID units (instead of the more blue, and lower brightness 6000 Kelvin ones)
Lifetime warranty on all parts (bulb, ballast, harness)
Extra discount for ordering 2 kits

Single piece ballast for easy install (on right):

    Weatherproofed wiring (on left):

    Full glare shielding (on left):

Well, apparently we do NOT use H7 bulbs here in the US.

    Our headlights:

    Low beams:

    High beam bulb:

    High beam assembly:

We apparently use the Hella H9 90mm Headlamp Conversion Module:

    Another look:

    Info on our H9 bulbs:

    http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...ulb_types.html

    H9 = 65W = 2100 lumens, high efficiency (1800 lumens with lens)

Here's what the H9 kit looks like:

Will take more picts after it's installed.

It's 3.2 lbs per kit, so if you do both low and high beams, it's an extra 6.4 lbs on your car. It's a bit more weight than I wanted to add, but I think it'll be worth it for the amount of light.

I picked the 5000k kit, which is, IMHO, a good compromise between color and output. 4300k is the absolute brightest (because they're xenon), and only has the slightest yellow hue to it. Most 4300k bulbs claim to be pure white, but they aren't. 5000k bulbs are whiter with just a very slight blueish tinge to them.

Got them in. They are bright. It definitely lights up the road.

Here we go. It's kinda hard to take pictures of it, but here we go:

    High beams (both light up):

i too want new bulbs in my noble, the stock ones IMO are too weak, i can barely see anything at night... do you know if we get those bulbs here in SA? they look great! btw the new ones you put in are xenon bulbs right? as opposed to the stock's halogen..

did you do the installation yourself?

If you can barely see anything at night, the first thing you want to do is check the aim. The stock lights are actually reasonably good (if you use the same Hella projectors and H9 bulbs the US models do) when aimed properly. The xenon ones are indeed much brighter though.

I had my mechanic do the installation. Except for lengthening the wires, the kit is reasonably plug & play though.
