    Default Flush mount speakers

Anybody know of speakers that will clear door bars? With Hoover's cat back and noisy Michelins it's not like I'd use it much. Don't want to quelch the symphony behind me anyway except on long trips. I guess I mostly just want something to make it look more like a road car, but a search with "flush mount speakers" doesn't yield anything approaching flush, neither at my local Car Toys boom box shop.
    Thanks!

Yes, I studied your masterful creation last summer, Arty. You are an artiste.
Unfortunately, the door mounts are far from flush and I want to plug that hole. The remote locations you leveraged was genius and if I cared more for fidelity than luggage space I'd snap that up in a heartbeat.
    Thanks

If we cared about fidelity, we'd add a couple hundred pounds of sound deadening material. Or trade for a Lexus.

Default You could make a step down template and put a smaller speaker in

use the step down template to turn the 6 1/2 hole into a 5 1/4 or smaller speaker, mount the speaker inside the exsisting hole and you can satisfy your problem that way
    Thanks,
    Arty

Noblola, some years back, Greg Robb had designed side intrusion bars for Nobles, and when I called him, he told me that the design called for flush mounted speakers. I'd call him and ask what brand he had used. I don't remember his firm's name, bet he's in Indianapolis and he works on Indy cars, as well as Noble engine instillation, etc.
