Yeah, that's nuts. I saw that the other day and was like whoa...! Amazing that he traveled almost two football fields and through two fences before he stopped in the spectator area. Something that probably wouldn't happen to an ALMS car due to aero.

He was going 95 mph when he went off. Brake failure, not driver error. The Noble has no trouble hitting 150 mph.
This post shd be incentive to ramp up on safety equipment. The driver apparently credited the HANS, his cage and the RaceTech seat for helping him survive. As one poster noted in response to concern about the $2,500 seat cost: "The wheelchair will set you back more than that." |
