    Default Wiring V1 radar detector

    Hey guys, day two of ownership and time to mod! Where should I hook in for power for the V1? I want to mount it low on the windshield with the wire running directly down into the dash. I want to have power with ignition or power with igition and use on of the dead switches on the center cluster (boost or rear fog).

    Thanks in advance!

    You might want to consider mounting it on the rear deck pad just below the rear window that is between the seats. I have put my Escort there and it works fine and no one will ever see it or notice you removing it if you get stopped. If you put it there, one of the places you can get switched power is the fuel pump leads although that only stays on for a few seconds if you don't start the car. If you look at the electrical diagram on page 12 of Chapter 8 you will see fuse 9 at the top of the page. If you want to pick up this power point in the engine compartment note the reverse gear switch in the lower left, it is on the top of the transmission and is easy to get at.

    thanks for the tip! I routed the cable along the roll cage into the passenger dash area and tapped into the red wire on the radio. works great!

    Now i can cruise the highways with less stress.

    Hey Ross, a word to the wise. Call Mike E. at 1G and ask him a few questions about adding accessaries.......... more specifically ;

    * does your new M400 come with the upgraded fuel wiring harness as stock ? It very well may or should.

    * ask Mike if it is OK for you to wire this or other accessaries into the main panel without affecting other things on the car ?

    * although I own a 3R, mid chassis number, I had a seperate accessary panel wired in by Mike recently to avoid causing other issues in the electrics of the car. The Noble ( 3R's ) are very sensative to adding onto the main panel and just for peace of mind I would check that this has or has not been sorted out "stock" on the new M400's

    Again, just a word to the wise to check it out .......
